(This poem was started back in January of 2002. Then I ended up setting it aside and forgetting about it until April 24, 2012! It was perfect timing that I came across it by accident after ten years; for on that day, a new day truly did begin. For God told my heart to leap for joy!)
“Leap For Joy!”
This new day has begun
An anticipated phase of rest
A new page being written upon
As I press on toward the Best
Rest I craved for so long—
God has finally bestowed
To reminisce my former song
Causes my grateful heart to glow
Pain—You brought me through
More pain than a poem could describe
But now You’re making all things new
And now my soul is made alive!
I’m like a fish leaping up out of the water
My soul’s now clear–minded and free
Like one wrapped in a cuddle from her Father
The day God spoke these words to me:
Leap for joy! Do not fear.
You are loved, and you are whole.
Though you’ve shed many tears
You were always in my hold.
